Using non-competitive games that come naturally to young people, Sports for Sharing, Inc. (S4S) introduces kids ages 6 to 12 to in-school activities that strengthen their self-confidence and self-awareness, their role as civic actors, and their power to team up with one another for achieving genuine social good in their own community.
S4S utilizes children’s own universal and compelling language – play – to instill critical values and skills that evolve into positive, healthy interactions between and among individuals and bring out the best in society as a whole.
S4S is now expanding to Elementary Schools in the US. In just six years, S4S has leveraged a single project in three schools into a carefully managed, transparent and fully-audited not-for-profit that has successfully forged partnerships with over 800 primary schools and local governments, reaching more than 160,000 beneficiaries in Mexico: almost 64,000 children, 96,000 parents, and well over 1,800 teachers.
